Book presentation

L'Italia al lavoro: un lifestyle da esportazione

March 26, 2024, 6:00 pm, Civic Conference Hall "Raccolta delle Stampe A. Bertarelli", Castello Sforzesco, Milan

The Civic Conference Hall "Raccolta delle Stampe A. Bertarelli" at Castello Sforzesco will host the presentation of the book "L'Italia al lavoro: un lifestyle da esportazione" written by Paola Cordera, Associate Professor of the Design Department, and Chiara Faggella will take place.

Pietro C. Marani, President of Raccolta Vinciana, and Francesco Zurlo, Full Professor and Dean of the School of Design, will be speaking.

The book investigates the complexity of the scenario in which the traveling exhibition "Italy at Work: Her Renaissance in Design Today" 1950 - 1953, took place, in the context of that broad international horizon that contributed to the construction of the rhetoric and fortune of Made in Italy after World War II.

The volume includes twenty-three essays by scholars from sixteen Italian and foreign institutes and universities, constructing the plot of a polyphonic and multidisciplinary story involving the fields of art history and architecture, decorative arts and design, industry, fashion, and museology.

The event is free admission subject to availability.
