Research Groups

The Department is divided into three thematic Sections: Design and cultures; Products, strategies and services; Design environments, landscape and mobility.

The Sections are headed by Professors, Researchers, Research fellows and PhD students, organized in research groups or thematic laboratories. The Department collaborates with other Politecnico di Milano departments and with many universities and international research centers for collaborative research activities and is part of several international networks for research and teaching development.

The Department of Design is an active part of numerous research networks that link different international realities with the aim of promoting research and academic and professional training in all fields of design.

DCODE

Fundamentals of Design Competence for Our Digital Future

DCODE is a Horizon 2020 Marie Sklodowska-Curie Innovative Training Network (ITN) bringing together 40 researchers from 20 countries. The programme aims to train researchers and designers to drive the digital transformation of society towards an inclusive and sustainable future.
