Hills of Pleasures

June 10, 2024, 5:45 pm - 7:45 pm @ Polifactory, B3 Building, Bovisa Campus, via Candiani 72, Milan

The third event in the Care(ful) Design schedule of the second edition of Open Polifactory, features Verônica Natividade, who will present her work on exploring innovative perspectives to address the favelas issue through the dual lens of machine learning as a technical tool and philosophical framework.

Through various projects, Verônica Natividade will illustrate how machine learning can offer new insights and approaches to one of the most pressing urban challenges of our time.

Verônica Natividade is an architect and urban planner. Since 2010, she has been an Associate Professor at PUC-Rio, where she directs the Laboratory of Robotic Fabrication in Architecture. Specializing in artificial intelligence and favelas, she is currently pursuing a PhD at ETH Zurich, studying the impact of artificial intelligence on urbanism. An expert in algorithmic design and digital fabrication, she received her master's degree from USP in 2010.

The event will conclude with an open discussion between the audience and panelists. An aperitif will follow.
