Compasso d'Oro for "Designing in Dark Times" - Editor Virginia Tassinari

Compasso d'Oro Award 2022

The last image shows a person holding a book in front of their face, creating a composition centered on the title and the message of the work. The book has a vibrant red cover with the title "Designing in Dark Times - An Arendtian Lexicon" printed in a black sans-serif font. Below the title, the names of the editors (including Ezio Manzini and Virginia Tassinari) are listed. The person holding the volume wears a blue and white striped shirt; their hands, with red-polished nails matching the cover, display several rings (a wide gold band and one with a clear stone). The background is an exposed red brick wall, echoing the warm tones of the image. The choice to hide the face behind the book suggests that the individual's identity is secondary to the ideas or knowledge contained within the text.
