DDC meets Stephanie Sherman
Narrative Machines: Devices, Denotation, Designation and Derivatives
May 15, 2024, 5:30 pm, room B2.1.16, Bovisa Campus, Via Candiani 72, Milan
The Course of Communication Design, in collaboration with the design studio dotdotdot, presents a lecture by Stephanie Sherman, director, strategist, writer and producer working across design, technology, architecture, and culture.
Her research focuses on the history and the future of automation, and she is currently working on transforming her PhD “Auto: Fordian Parables of Platform Automation” into a book.
The conversation will focus on the future of narrative machines, considering how devices, denotation, designation and derivatives in AI systems form new ways to externalize cognition, establish contextual environments, and create collective stories.
Alessandro Masserdotti, Professor of the Final Synthesis Design Studio C1, will introduce the seminar.
The meeting can also be followed remotely by connecting to the virtual classroom.
