How can design shape interspecies placemaking?

Codesign session

A graphic poster with a vibrant and contemporary design features an abstract camouflage pattern with blue, sage green, and sand-colored spots. The composition is dominated by the central question "How can design shape interspecies placemaking?", written in a black sans-serif font on white blocks. Several overlapping text labels provide event details, mentioning a "CODESIGN SESSION" and "8 concepts developed by students for validation." The "Goccia" logo appears in the top right, while other information indicates the location "B2 -1 floor" and the date "20th April 11.30-15.00." The top edge is decorated with a repeated pink band reading "DESIGN FOR PLACEMAKING," adding an extra dynamic layer to the visual communication.

April 20, 2026, from 11:30 am to 3:00 pm, Floor -1, Building B2, Bovisa Durando Campus, Milan

An open co-design session will be held, presenting the projects developed within the Design for Placemaking Studio, within the Master’s Degree in Interior and Spatial Design. The initiative represents an opportunity for active exchange, aiming to bring together design visions and real needs.

The event presents eight future design visions that explore new ways of inhabiting and sharing interspecies spaces within Parco La Goccia. The projects investigate the theme of placemaking through different perspectives on interspecies environments.

The codesign session serves as a moment of validation and project activation, where citizens, users, and stakeholders are invited to contribute to the development of the proposals through participatory activities designed and facilitated by the students. The goal is to test the design visions, gather qualitative feedback, and foster a direct dialogue between the projects and their context.
