ICCHP-AAATE 2022

International conference on technologies for inclusion

From July 11 to 15, the Lecco Campus of the Politecnico di Milano hosted the ICCHP-AATE 2022, International Conference on Digital Inclusion, Assistive Technologies and Accessibility.

The conference was attended by more than 400 participants from 46 different countries and was presented not only by the ICCHP (International Conference on Computers for Handicapped Persons) and AATE (Association for the Advancement of Assistive Technology in Europe) associations, but also by Giuseppe Andreoni, professor of the Design Department of the Politecnico di Milano and head of SensiLab - Laboratory of Sensors and Biomedical Systems - of the Lecco Polo, and Mauro Gattinoni, Mayor of Lecco.

The Politecnico di Milano, through the Department of Design and the Department of Mechanics, offered a strong contribution in the realization of this conference, participating in the session "Design for Assistive Technologies and Rehabilitation", coordinated by Giuseppe Andreoni and Paolo Perego (Department of Design) and Mario Covarrubias Rodriguez (Department of Mechanics). The Department of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering also featured one of the three scheduled plenary open lectures, given by Alessandra Pedrocchi, professor and co-head of the interdepartmental laboratory WE-COBOT - Wearable and collaborative robotics - entitled "Neuroprosthetics and robotics in neurorehabilitation and for the assistance of severely disabled people."

This conference thus represented an important point of encounter and dialogue between the Politecnico di Milano and the Lecco Territorial Pole, which made it possible to present to an international audience the design innovations developed with the partners of the Lecco district in the field of rehabilitation and inclusion.
