Mnemosfera Lancetti. Exhibition by elisi

Opening

November 8, 2026, 6:00 pm, spazioSERRA, Milano Lancetti station

Mnemosfera Lancetti is the title of the exhibition by elisi, an artistic collective formed by Marta Elisa Cecchi and Clorinda Sissi Galasso. It is part of the exhibition programme Co-Presence is a Passing Gesture, which explores public art as a relational situation in which the intermittent presence of passers-by becomes an active part of the work.

elisi’s research focuses on what places retain over time, beyond their architecture: an intangible dimension shaped by the passage and experiences of those who have moved through them. To describe this quality, the collective coined the term mnemosfera, combining mn (memory, from the Greek), emo (emotions) and sphere (atmosphere). The mnemosfera is the accumulation of experiences, memories and emotional traces that a place incorporates over time and that, under certain conditions, can become perceptible again, changing how the place is experienced in the present.

spazioSERRA is the subject of the work before it is its container. The installation transforms it into a souvenir of itself: a miniature replica of the space is placed at its centre.

Lancetti station is a place organised around movement, which does not necessarily invite people to stop. For years, spazioSERRA has created an interruption in this flow, catching the attention of those passing through the station. With this work, the pause becomes an opportunity to retrace the memory of the space and of those who have passed through it.

The exhibition will be open to visitors from November 8 to December 4 2026.
