The Gianfranco Ferré Research Center at Politecnico di Milano announces the launch of its new web platform, designed to present in a comprehensive and rigorous way its identity, mission, and scientific and cultural activities. Established in December 2021 following the donation of the Gianfranco Ferré Historical Archive and the headquarters of the historic foundation by the Ferré family, the Center works to preserve, enhance, and activate the archival heritage of international significance connected to the life and work of Gianfranco Ferré, promoting research, education, and innovation in fields related to the Fashion System.

The new platform, developed with a clear and accessible information architecture, allows users to explore the legacy of Gianfranco Ferré through a detailed reconstruction of his biographical and professional trajectory. Significant space is dedicated to the Haute Couture and women’s and men’s prêt-à-porter collections, which document the evolution of his design language and his fundamental role in the history of the national and international Fashion System. Particular attention is devoted to the Historical Archive and the Augmented Archive, tools that enable users to explore the richness of the documentary heritage—drawings, photographs, films, volumes, and garments—also through forms of access based on advanced digital technologies. Great emphasis is also given to the exhibitions promoted by the Research Center and by the historic Foundation, which represent one of the main instruments for the dissemination and enhancement of Ferré’s work. Finally, the section dedicated to publications and podcasts offers an updated overview of the Center’s research and study activities.

At the heart of the new website is the section dedicated to research projects and educational innovation initiatives, showcasing the many activities developed to preserve and enhance heritage through new technologies, with the aim of promoting digital innovation in service of the creative and cultural industries.

Thanks to textual and visual content organized to ensure accessibility and transparency, the platform is conceived both as a consultation tool and as a reference point for the academic community, cultural institutions, students and researchers, as well as national and international partners.
