May 25, 2026, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm, MADE Competence Center, Building B8, Bovisa Durando Campus, Milan
At the core of the initiative is an expanded vision of Made in Italy, no longer limited to its traditional sectors, but extended to areas such as healthcare, energy, advanced manufacturing, aerospace, and logistics. Across all these sectors, not only patents but also design – understood as planning, functionality, and user experience – and trademarks – as expressions of identity and reputation – play a central role in value creation.
The event is part of the marchiedisegniUE project, promoted by the EUIPO, European Union Intellectual Property Office and UIBM, the Italian Patent and Trademark Office. It is organized by the Politecnico di Milano School of Design and SI.CAMERA srl, with the contribution of MICS, the Foundation promoting Circular and Sustainable Made in Italy.
The initiative aims to investigate how sustainability, applied to this broader vision of Made in Italy, can become a driver of innovation, capable of being protected and enhanced through both European and national regulatory frameworks.
The program will be divided into two sessions:
- The current context and the main regulatory and systemic challenges;
- Case studies and testimonials from companies operating across different sectors.
From furniture and fashion to the emerging sectors of Made in Italy, the event will showcase experiences demonstrating how sustainability and innovation, supported through the registration of designs/models or patents, can generate value and strengthen corporate brand identity.
Through the contributions of experts, institutions, and companies, concrete examples will illustrate how the protection of design, trademarks, and innovative solutions can translate into competitive advantages, stronger branding, and enhanced market positioning.
Agenda currently being finalized.
