Space Design at Focus Live 2023

Come sarà vivere nello spazio?

November 3, 2023, 7:20 pm, Museo Nazionale della Scienza e della Tecnologia Leonardo da Vinci, Via San Vittore 21, Milan

What challenges need to be overcome to ensure the habitability of the International Space Station, the initial lunar settlements, lunar bases and spacecraft designed for space tourism?

Speakers Annalisa Dominoni and Benedetto Quaquaro, creators and lecturers at Politecnico of the first and unique course of space architecture and design with the partnership of the European Space Agency (ESA), will guide the audience on a journey out of Earth's orbit to discover how we will live on other planets.

The theme for this edition of Focus Live, the science dissemination festival at Museo Nazionale della Scienza e della Tecnologia Leonardo da Vinci, is Visions. The three-days festival will focus on the concepts of experimentation, innovation, creativity and curiosity that are at the heart of scientific disciplines.

In addition to the speech the Department will also be present with an immersive exhibition entitled SPACE VISIONS - POLIMI DESIGN: visitors will be able to experience a virtual immersion inside lunar habitats where the first astronauts will live and work and also inside commercial space stations, such as Orbital Reef, designed for reduced-gravity entertainment.

Admission to the events of Focus Live is free, by reservation and subject to availability of seats.
