The Final Synthesis Design Studio of the Master’s Degree in Communication Design inaugurates the exhibition “Territori Urgenti: Forms of communicative activism”.
Territori urgenti are contexts shaped by critical conditions that require conscious design responses. Contexts do not coincide with a “background”: they are geographical, social, political, and cultural situations, at different scales, made up of physical, narrative, and symbolic configurations.
Criticalities are the urgencies of the present: emerging needs, persistent issues, or transformations that are reshaping arrangements once considered stable. Within this framework, communication is not an “output”: it is an act. For this reason, it assumes an ethical criterion of choice, structure, and inquiry.
Activism takes shape through formats, languages, and platforms that connect people, circulate knowledge, build alliances, and carry grassroots claims from the bottom up.
In this process, the use of different forms of intelligence – human, collective, and artificial – is critical, situated, and generative. AI technologies are employed as tools for exploration, analysis, and prototyping, opening up hypotheses and making processes explicit.
Urgent territories are complex systems, shaped by many actors and multiple versions of reality, and design reaffirms itself as an exercise of responsibility in the practice of communication.
The exhibition will open on March 17, 2026 at 6:00 pm and will remain open until April 17, 2026.
