The Politecnico di Milano at the academic cooperation agreement exchange ceremony

1 September, new premises of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Rome

On 1 September, at the new premises of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Rome, the exchange ceremony was held of academic cooperation agreements between ADA University and five Italian universities, including the Politecnico di Milano, in relation to the Italy-Azerbaijan University that is to be opened in Baku.

Opening the event was the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev. In attendance for the occasion, alongside the Rector of ADA University, Hafiz Pashayev, were the following senior figures from the Italian universities involved: the Director of the Department of Design at the Politecnico di Milano, Alessandro Deserti, the Vice President of Luiss Guido Carli University, Paola Severino, the Rector of Sapienza University of Rome, Antonella Polimeni, the Rector of the Politecnico di Torino, Guido Saracco, and the Deputy Vice Rector of Alma Mater Studiorum - University of Bologna, Simona Tondelli.

The aim of the Italy-Azerbaijan University is to contribute to Azerbaijan's aspirations for growth and innovation by bringing Italian know-how into the field.

The programme portfolio aims to develop management and workforce capacities in strategic sectors and high-demand areas. To establish the programmes, ADA University will benefit from the expertise of Italian universities, for example the Politecnico di Milano will contribute to architecture, design and urban planning.
The Italy-Azerbaijan University will act as a centre for the transfer of research, technology, skills and innovation between the two countries.
