Undeclared: Highlighting Hidden Conflicts through Communication and Speculative Design is an exhibition presenting the projects from Final Synthesis Design Studio C1 lead by professors Francesco E. Guida, Pietro Buffa, Alessandro Masserdotti and Giacomo Scandolara of the Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Design, School of Design, Politecnico di Milano. It will take place at dotdotdot, a transdisciplinary design studio focused on experiences and environments that bridge physical and digital spaces.
Through a series of speculative design projects, the exhibition explores the theme of conflict by examining future scenarios that reflect and interpret the tensions and challenges of the present. Undeclared offers a critical reflection on the processes that shape contemporary society, highlighting how seemingly neutral structures can contribute to situations of tension and conflict.
The exhibition brings together the projects developed by the students: an explorative journey that uses communication design as a means of critique and engagement with the complexity of current times. The projects on display bring to life scenarios that, despite not being drawn from the present, are set at such a distance that they feel both familiar and unsettling. In such a way, new ways of living, communicating and interpreting reality emerge, challenging what is taken for granted.
Undeclared invites the public to observe what normally escapes the eye: silent tensions, invisible frictions and systemic mechanisms at work beneath the surface of everyday life.
Free entrance.
