TeDH is a knowledge and skills center specializing in the production and application of research and design (user research, ethnographic observation, Human-Centered Design methodologies) for the development of products, environments, and services in the clinical/biomedical and wellness sectors.

TeDH is an interdisciplinary team comprising designers, architects, and engineers who work in continuous connection with users, healthcare professionals, and individuals from local medical institutions.

The research activity mainly involves designing products, systems, environments, and services for people's health and well-being using Co-Design and User-Centered Design methodologies.

The main areas of study and innovation include:

  • Smart fabrics and wearable sensors
  • Ergonomics
  • Digital Human Modeling
  • Innovative assistive technologies
  • Digital therapy
  • Interactive and responsive systems
  • Human-Computer Interaction

TeDH's projects range from designing wearable biomedical devices for remote monitoring of biological signals to developing healthcare service scenarios supported by mobile communication technologies.

At TeDH, we develop and apply new methodologies, design and test innovative products and services by working collaboratively with end users, healthcare professionals, policymakers, and industries.

We apply design methods, tools, and expertise within our research to engage people, understand problems, and visualize new possibilities and future scenarios.

We have coordinated or participated in projects funded by the European Commission's framework program, national and international institutes, and private companies.

The research group has a strong attitude towards innovation and technology transfer: more than 15 national and international patents have been developed in this Laboratory. Over the past 15 years, more than 300 scientific publications have been disseminated.
