OSMOSI is an action-research project aimed at studying hybrid and multifunctional cultural spaces distributed across the national territory, which are recognized as places of social inclusion capable of generating changes in the territory. The focus is on the two selected regional areas (Sicily and Lombardy),

These places become proximate spaces, in a model of the 15-minute City, incubators of social practices, tools for the repurposing of disused spaces, increasingly emptied in response to the digitalization of services and the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The OSMOSIS research aims to study the impact assessment of hybrid cultural spaces from the perspective of social innovation, economic sustainability, and the built environment, through experimentation on two pilot projects in the two reference regions.

The two pilot projects, along with a mapping of the spaces, will serve as the starting point for reflection and the construction of a reference framework for public administration and other stakeholders.

The framework aims to be a useful tool for the development of new intervention strategies and new forms of governance, with the aim of making these spaces increasingly strategic for social inclusion, community aggregation, and territorial development, through creative and cultural activities.
