SOSpesa. Neighborhood Networks for the Recovery, Distribution and Upgrading of Food Surplus

The image depicts a circular infographic dedicated to the "SOS PESA" project, illustrating the operation of a food solidarity chain through a concentric circle diagram. On the left, various red and orange arrows point to "suppliers" and donors such as Gorillas, Recup, and Casa Nolo, while on the right, the involved "human resources" are highlighted, including the Municipality of Milan, volunteers, and various support networks. In the center, a red icon emphasizes the final goal: the distribution of fresh, diversified, and controlled products to people in vulnerable conditions, such as the unemployed or those living in temporary poverty.

The SOSpesa project aims at creating a network of local players in solidarity that, by mapping food flows, offers food at subsidised prices, recovers surplus food and transforms unsold food for disadvantaged groups.
The heart of the operation is the Nolo district in Milan, already at the center of transformations promoted by associations and neighborhood shops in the area.
