Full Professor of Product Design at Politecnico di Milano, where he has been chair of the Product Design and of the Furniture Design programs.
He teaches in bachelor, master, PhD and post-graduate specialization programs in Politecnico di Milano, and has been lecturing in various universities, institutions and companies abroad.

He coordinated the construction of DI.LAB, the workshops system of the Design Department, one of the most advanced international structures supporting education and research in the field of design.
He has worked on applied research and consulting for many companies and institutions, coordinating projects at different levels: tools and methods, strategy, product, communication, interior and exhibit design.

He has received grants for various EU research projects within the 7th Framework Programme (FP7) and the H2020 programme, where he has been actively working as a researcher and as a coordinator of his research team.

He has published several books, essays and articles in international journals and conference proceedings, mainly dealing with the tools and processes for the design driven innovation, with particular reference to the transfer of design methods and tools to new fields of application.
