She graduated in Architecture in Naples (1987), later completing a three-year specialization in Industrial Design at the Università di Napoli "Federico II" (1993) and earning a PhD from Politecnico di Milano (1998).

After several years of professional, research, and teaching experience in product design and exhibition design at the Università di Napoli "Federico II" and ISD–Istituto Superiore di Design, she became a researcher in Industrial Design at Politecnico di Milano in 2005.

She is currently an Associate Professor at the Department of Design and teaches in the Bachelor's Degree Program in Industrial Product Design, where she has also been a member of the Technical Coordination Committee and the review and self-evaluation group since 2016.

Her research and teaching activities focus on design for local development, territorial enhancement, and cultural heritage, as well as product design.

She is the coordinator of the Departmental Research Network "D4T – Design for Territories" (http://www.d4t.polimi.it) and director of the advanced training course "Brand dei Sistemi Territoriali. Progettare la marca di un territorio e l’incoming turistico" at Poli.design.

Since 2010, she has been part of the coordination team of the joint Master’s program between Politecnico di Milano and Università Cattolica "Progettare Cultura. Arte, design e imprese culturali", where she also leads the teaching module on design for territorial development.

Since 2015 she has collaborated with "ADI - Associazione per il Disegno Industriale" in the Technical-Scientific Committee for Professional Training, in the Commission “Ricerca teorico, storico, critica e progetti editoriali”’ of ADI Design Index and as a member of the Thematic Commission "Handmade in Italy - il Design dei Territori Italiani".

Since 2016, she has been a board member of the Italian Society of Design (SID).

She has contributed to several scientific design journals (SDI Design Review, Rivista della Società dei Territorialisti, PAD Journal) and has been a visiting professor at the "Magíster en Diseño Estratégico (MDE)" at the Universidad de Valparaíso in Chile.

She has participated in national research projects funded by the Ministry, including: SDI Sistema Design Italia** (1998-2000), Me.design on design for the Mediterranean (2002-2004), D.cult on design for the enhancement of cultural heritage (2005-2006).
