Tassinari Virginia

Researcher

She is currently a Marie Curie Seal of Excellence Post-Doctoral Researcher at the Department of Design of Politecnico di Milano (PoliMi Desis Lab), an Adjunct Professor at the Product Design Faculty of Luca School of Arts (Belgium), and collaborates as a Designer with the Foresight and Design Studio Pantopicon (Belgium), where she works on urban regeneration projects.

Her work lies at the intersection of design – mainly focused on social innovation – and philosophy, both in terms of research and design theory, as well as practice.

She is the co-initiator of the Desis Philosophy Talks format, a member of the Desis International Committee, and was for several years an executive member of the board of Cumulus, the international association of universities and schools of design, media, and art.

She recently received an Honourable Mention at the Compasso d’Oro for a project on storytelling and design for social innovation (Bertolotti, Piredda, Haam, and Tassinari. The Pearl Diver. Desis Editions, 2017). Among her most recent works is the volume Staszowski and Tassinari. A Lexicon for Designing in Dark Times. Bloomsbury, 2020.
