From December 19, 2025 to April 12, 2026, from 10:00 am to 5:30 pm, CASVA – Centre for Advanced Studies in the Visual Arts, Via Isernia 5, Milan (QT8)

On December 18 2025, CASVA – the Centre for Advanced Studies in the Visual Arts of the Municipality of Milan – inaugurates, at its new venue in the QT8 district, the exhibition De Pas, D’Urbino, Lomazzi. Fantastically Effervescent, dedicated to three emblematic figures of Italian design in the second half of the twentieth century: Jonathan De Pas, Donato D’Urbino and Paolo Lomazzi, founders of the historic DDL studio.

Through a documentary and immersive exhibition path, the show features well-known, lesser-known and previously unpublished projects, tracing the evolution of their work from architecture to product design, with particular attention to interior design. Iconic objects such as the inflatable armchair Blow, the Joe sofa and the Sciangai coat stand engage in dialogue with radical visions of domestic living, marked by experimentation, irony and a critical approach to traditional housing models.

Curated by Maria Teresa Feraboli, with exhibition design by Andrea Gianni, the exhibition reveals the designers’ imaginative universe, characterised by free, flexible and informal spaces, as well as visionary proposals such as pneumatic domes, residential hypercubes and radically innovative holiday homes, all placing individual freedom at the centre of the domestic space.

The opening of the exhibition also marks the debut of CASVA’s new headquarters in QT8, further strengthening the centre’s mission to promote design culture and design archives as an integral part of Milan’s cultural identity.
