DISRUPTING ORDERS

Creativity that Challenges the Rules

From 31 January to 2 February 2025, Stecca 3.0, Via Gaetano de Castillia, 26, Milan

From January 31th onwards, Stecca 3.0 hosts Disrupting Orders - Creativity that challenges the rules, an exhibition organized by the students of the Master course in Product Service System Design of the School of Design at Politecnico di Milano.

We live in an era defined by increasingly complex orders: environmental and social. Climate crises, growing inequalities, and economic and political instability intersect, creating a chaos that challenges us to find new answers. As we confront these critical issues, design has the potential to play a transformative role: challenging the established order and creating pathways for a more sustainable and equitable future. Disrupting Orders brings together innovative projects that address these urgent concerns, exploring how creativity can reshape our response to these global crises.

Innovation Studio continues the work done in the previous years by proposing the topic “UNCERTAIN TIMES” exploring how, from a critical understanding of the present, we can conceive product-service system solutions that shape the future.

A showcase of projects responding to the orders of our time

The title Disrupting Orders focuses on the idea of a creative gesture that does not simply react to order but actively disrupts it. To disrupt is not to destroy but to deconstruct and redefine the rules that have contributed to chaos, giving rise to new perspectives and solutions. In fact 2 scenarios will be the red thread of the exhibition, which will help visitors move through the projects created by 90 students.

ENVIRONMENTAL ORDERS

Environmental orders are increasingly defined by the urgent challenges of climate change, pollution and resource management. This scenario explores how design can reimagine the interaction between humans and nature, proposing solutions that mitigate environmental damage and encourage sustainable living. It invites us to harmonize human activity with ecological balance through innovative systems and practices.

SOCIAL ORDERS

Social orders are marked by inequalities and social fragmentation, challenging the way we connect and collaborate as communities. This scenario invites us to explore new ways to foster inclusion and resilience. Through projects addressing issues like human rights, empowerment and community bonds, it envisions a more united and equitable society where stronger relationships and shared values can thrive.
