ReverseLab arrives at PAC in Milan
Pilot space for contemporary art between the prison and the city
Opening on October 13, 2025 at 7:00 PM, via Palestro 14, Milan

ReverseLab arrives at PAC in Milan. From San Vittore prison, this art and research project explores a possible relationship between prison and city, and between space, time, and people.
The Gallery and Project Room host an unexpected fragment of San Vittore prison. A fragment of space and time entrusted with telling the story of the project that the research group Laboratorio Carcere of Politecnico di Milano, Forme Tentative, Philo – Pratiche filosofiche, PAC, and artist Maurice Pefura, together with 40 inmates, carried out with the prison, inside the prison, from March to November 2024.
It is a project of space, art and relationship. The space, which has been rearranged, is the unused basement of the prison; the art is the long process that has revealed and composed stories, hopes, and fears; the relationship is that between the people involved and that between the right and wrong sides of the city.
This new venue in the center of Milan continues to provide space for that dialogue and expresses with equal force the futility of providing answers and the need to raise questions.
Uncomfortable questions about the meaning of prison, its persistence within the body of the city and outside of time, the usefulness of imprisoned art, and the real possibilities of research in spaces of confinement.
The artwork now leaves San Vittore, its destiny is to bring these questions to those outside. The prison space remains, as does the large hidden public space, silent and laden with more than 120 years of history, awaiting the next piece, a new fragment that will reopen those questions once again.
The exhibition will be open from October 14 to 26.
