The project starts from the consideration that the young adult section of San Vittore prison is an unstable reality in continuous metamorphosis, due to the rapid turnover of inmates and the varied demands for change from volunteer associations.

METHEXIS (the term used by Plato to indicate the relationship between empirical things and ideas, which translates into active participation of people in ideas) starts from the experience of the researchers already involved in San Vittore and takes shape as a process of description and intervention in that existing place.

The main objective is to lead to greater involvement of young adult detainees and San Vittore operators in forms of social life and mutual support.

The result will be a model-map with a dual descriptive and generative function, developing an innovative design tool for those who manage and operate in San Vittore, as well as a new research methodology transferable to other contexts of significant social distress.
