Architect and Associate Professor at Politecnico di Milano, he is the author of numerous books on design, architecture and contemporary arts, the latest of which is entitled "Italian Design Beyond Crises. Autarchy, austerity, self-production".

He is active in teaching, criticism and research.

From 1996 to 2007 he was editor of the magazine "Abitare". He also curated exhibitions and publications on the work of the great masters of the visual arts, such as Bruno Munari, Angelo Mangiarotti, Vico Magistretti and Alessandro Mendini, and on today's new protagonists, such as Fabio Novembre and Paolo Ulian.

Since 2010 he has been designing and directing "Inventario. Everything is a project".
