Seminar organized by the città-IN project
24 January 2025, from 14:00 to 16:00, Department of Architecture and Urban Studies (DAStU), Eficio 12, 2nd floor, Via Bonardi 3, Milan
This seminar session offers insights into leveraging localized and systemic efforts to enhance both the accessibility and quality of public services with a specific focus on the right to education for all. It will explore critical operational and organizational dimensions relevant to ensuring equitable access to school services and the broader right to learning.
The session will begin by showcasing how the città-IN project has assessed empowerment levels in accessing school services in the San Siro neighbourhood. It will also present a tool (handbook) addressed to local associations and guidelines for the Municipality of Milan, highlighting approaches to improving school service accessibility. Evidence from the MUSA project will underscore the intersection of the digital divide and social inclusion, focusing on strategies to overcome connectivity barriers in marginalized communities. Additionally, insights from the Refuge-ed Project and the Brokering Knowledge Platform will demonstrate how knowledge-sharing and community-driven solutions address the unique educational needs of displaced populations, fostering inclusion and resilience.
Following the three projects’ presentations, discussions will focus on the challenges and opportunities of practicing citizenship rights by improving access to essential services.
