DESIGN FUTUREVERSE

Innovative didactics project financed by Politecnico di Milano as part of the ""Oltre la flipped"" pilot initiative aimed at rethinking the organisation of didactics in order to find a balance between distance learning and classroom experience.

The 'Design Futureverse' project proposes a hybrid didactics facilitated by the use of the VR Spatial social platform accessible both remotely and in the classroom via VR visors. The project involves the application of a Design Thinking methodology empowered by Future Thinking, in which through a project-based learning approach, groups of students collaborate with a tech-driven SME to develop concepts that respond to future social and environmental challenges by exploiting the potential of exponential technologies.

The course content is used in an innovative way either through de-localised experiences in which distance learners can discuss and display their results in social rooms on the Spatial platform, or through co-localised experiences in which they share their presence in the same physical and virtual location (via VR visors) in a hybrid learning context.

The project was implemented within the course Concept Design (a.y. 2020/2021, 2021/2022) and Design Futures (a.y. 2022/2023) in the Master's Degree Course in Integrated Product Design at the School of Design, Politecnico di Milano
