Full Professor

She is a Full Professor of Design at the Department of Design. A visual designer, she holds a degree in D.A.M.S. (Alma Mater Studiorum, University of Bologna) and a PhD in Industrial Design.

She teaches Culture visive e sistemi iconografici and Progetto della comunicazione visiva - Laboratorio di Sintesi finale (Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Design – School of Design), as well as Communication Design and Gender Cultures in the Master’s Degree programme of the School of Design. She served as Coordinator of the Communication Design Degree Programme from 2018 to 2024.

She is a member of the PhD Board in Design, of the Scientific Council of the Interuniversity Research Center on Gender Cultures, of the editorial board of the Communication Design series (FrancoAngeli), and of the Scientific Committee of the journal Progetto Grafico. In 1998, she received the Compasso d'Oro award as co-author of the multimedia catalog for the Poldi Pezzoli Museum. Her research focuses on visual and product identity, gender identity and communication stereotypes, visual communication systems, and their components.

She is the author of numerous publications including: La messa in scena del prodotto (1999), Packaging Design (2005), Cattive immagini (2021), and editor of: Culture visive (2007), Altre figure (2011), Anticorpi comunicativi (2012), Design e dimensione di genere (2015), Un’interfaccia per il welfare (2017), Design della comunicazione. Un ritratto disciplinare: studi e traiettorie (2024), We say stop. Reflections and Critical Contributions to Combat Violence Against Women (2024), and Design della comunicazione. Vent'anni di nuovo. Texts and Manifestos for the Future (2024).
