HumanitiesDesign Lab is a transdisciplinary scientific research laboratory of the Department of Design. It was initiated by the Fondo di Ateneo per la Ricerca di Base (Farb) of the Politecnico di Milano, thanks to which two research activities have been financed for one year since November 2011. The HDLab deals with the relationships between the disciplines of design and the humanities and social sciences. Its aim is to make visible the network of different knowledge around design. HumanitiesDesign Lab is a place for experimentation, development and knowledge sharing: a community of people, a portfolio of actions, reflections and projects that aim to extend and exemplify the innovative contribution of the humanities in design. In this sense HumanitiesDesign Lab promotes research and training activities with attention and sensitivity to the production of knowledge in the field of design. At the same time, it promotes new research activities in order to enrich and articulate its agenda of relevant topics and create networking opportunities at an international level.
